'We are misinformed': Why groups say reports on missing, killed Native people lack data

Ingrid Washinawatok El-Issa was killed while continuing her lifelong advocacy work to support Native people. Two decades after her death, her husband and son stood wrapped in blankets, tears in their eyes, next to her name immortalized on a mural in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood, on Lenapehoking land.
